|
|
Hi guys,
I'm testing out this advanced SEO mod and would like to know if anyone could help me out in SEO'ing the links in my forum RSS feeds. The specific line is this:
| Code: | | <link>".$base_url."viewtopic.php?".POST_POST_URL."=".$row['topic_last_post_id']."</link> |
While the entire code is this:
http://snippets.dzone.com/posts/show/4155
(I would post it in code tags but it takes up too much space and stretches the forum )
I have tried making sense of it myself but just can't seem to solve it. It would be great to see a guide explaining how to update your own mods with the SEO url features, at least to point people in the right direction. If anyone wants to explain or help me make the above MOD compatible with the Advanced mod Rewrite MOD I would really appreciate it. It should benefit others too because I expect that I'm not the only one using an RSS feed with my forum
Thank you |

Why not using the GYM sitemaps module ?
Many feeds are available, rewritten, able to deal with authorisation and with the content filtered (summarization + acurate bbcode and links stripping), styled and cached, in addition to the Google sitemaps and Yahoo urllist.

I have stuck with my current RSS mod and worked out how to make it phpBB SEO compatible My RSS mod is a fairly heavily stripped down and modified version, so I am not sure how much of a help I can be to anyone else who uses this mod. My version only creates an RSS feed from the latest topics in one forum, and it is modified to link to topic URLs rather than post URLs.
With all that said, If I can help anyone, just ask and I will try to help out with it. I expect most people use the more elaborate RSS mod from this site itself, though |
