Since the beginning of using the phpbb3 modrewrite i am encountering problems. (mainly because i make mistakes when aplying the mod) Sow i want to make a pause in using the mod rewrite. Wait till everything is settled down, phpbb3 is gold and the mod rewrite is more bugfree.
Is there any senseble way to not use the mod rewrite seowise? Now i dont have the modrewrite installed and do have the .htacces. But when you go to a rewritten url, the base url is not good so the template and links dont work. |

phpBB3 SEO mod rewrite 0.2.0RC3 does not have this bug any more.
Make sure you edited the overall_header.html of all style you are using, and properly modded the functions.php file.
I'm sure it's nothing to fix.
Then, talking about making a pause, well, it's not this Good SEOwise, if your forum started to be indexed. Especially if you plan to go back to it after.
You could stop using the virtual folder trick, would solve the issue for sure, but since it would as well imply some redirection, this means you should not go back to the virtual folder mod after.
It's not good to redirect too many times our urls.
