modded url work but are not fully integrated

Hi,
I installed the Advanced MOD to get nice url's instead of this php?1342... crap.
The Mod is working, I can see that, when accessing an url directly, e.g.:
<<broken-link>>

But when I'm going the typcial way I still get these dynamic, annoying php URL's.

What Did I do wrong?

Moved, since it looks like related to phpBB3.

It looks like you did not activated URL rewriting.

Then, you'll need the zero duplicate mod if you want regular links to be redirected to the new ones.

"URL Rewrite" is already activated.
Without this "zero dublicate" only the search engines see these "new" URL's???

Nope, everybody should see them.

Make sure you have uploaded all the modified files.

Maybe it's because I'm using phpbb with a german language file? I put the file "phpbb_seo.php" which is in the folder "language/en/acp" manually into "language/de/acp". Without that I was not able to install the mod.

Is that maybe the reason for this malfuction?

Nope, you did well with the language file.

Since no link is rewritten right now, it really looks like the mod is not installed or not activated.

Could you elaborate a bit on what have you done to install the mod ?

Of Course:
Im using 3.0RC7 of PHPbb with german language file.

- I downloaded this: mod SEO 040
- I uploaded these 4 folders: images, includes, language and phpbb_seo
- CHMOD the phpbb_seo/cache/ folder to 0777
- Empty the phpBB/cache/ folder
- www.yoursite.com/phpBB/phpbb_seo/phpbb_seo_install.php
- created a .htaccess file within the SEO Admin interface and put it into my http-root (which is not my forum-root)
- done

Then this is pretty strange.

Maybe you should upgrade to gold before we elaborate further on this. Not that it should not work with prior version, but.

OK, got it. I installed the final of phpbb 3.0.0. Now I wait for a new release of phpbb SEO that will defenitly work with gold.

They do work with phpBB 3.0.0 (gold) http://phpbb3.phpbb-seo.net is a live (and working) example.
Since you where using RC7, I suggested you to upgrade first.

Now that it is done, you should try the install again. Maybe you should first try on a local test server if you want to make sure you install it well before you go online.

I upgraded to Gold 3.0.0 and then re-installed the mod.
Now it works. Thank you very much. Now my urls look quite good Wink
