Since I use adsense on my site, googlebot (Mediapartners-Google) visits the redirected page after a post, which results in the page 'post-xxx.html' being added to google's supplemental results.
So, I would also like to see the redirect corrected here to send the user to the SEO rewritten page after posting a new topic. |

Are You sure about that?

Yes, that would work, but then each new post won't get hit by google's adsense bot immediately after posting. I guess the real googlebot will get around to it eventually anyway, but...
So, for now I'll add to robots.txt as you suggested. Still would like to see the new post redirect SEO'd just because it looks nicer... |

You can install / activate the zero duplicate and set post redirection to at least guest if you do not want the AdSense bot to see these urls at all |

| It's an option of the zero duplicate in ACP, you can activate or deactivate post redirection, setting it to guest will redirect bots and guests browsing post urls, but will let regular user use them, the other possible settings are explained in the acp. |

hmm...maybe my zero duplicate isn't installed properly. I only have one option in the ACP under PHPBB SEO tab to enable or disable zero duplicate.
Activate The No duplictate:
The No duplicate mod remplaces posts URLs with the corresponding Topic URL (with pagination).
It does not add any SQL, just a LEFT JOIN on a query already being performed, this could still mean a bit more work but should not be a problem for server load. |
