How to effectivly use two domains..

I currently own two domains (couldn't decide which one i wanted to use). So now have two domains which were setup to mirror each other. I have since shut down the one i am not using.

I was thinking of doing one or the other:

1. A weekly blog about my main site (easy)

2. A place were my forum users can upload and manage there photo's, sort of like a photobucket but only for users of my main site and pictures would be related to my site. (harder) Even better would be users automatically get an account profile setup when they signup for my forum. Sort of tie the two together.. Does any one know of any slick packages like this out there?

Not really an SEO question, but thought you guys might be able to help.

SEO wise, you need to make sure that each domain will have a dedicated content, you do not want to show the same pages with the same domains.

Then, generally speaking, it's harder to start two domains than just one. A unique domains with let's say a blog and a forum will be as big as the forum and the blog, where two separate domain will each one be only big as a part of the whole content you'll have posted in both.

It can be useful to run two domains, but they must be considered as two different websites SEO wise which means more work.

Then, what you seem to be asking for is sessions sharing among different application, like a forum and a blog.
WP united is a solution to for example re use phpBB3 sessions in word-press. They can even be installed using distinct domains with some tweaks.
But it mainly depends on what application are you using.
