Stat counter & other suggestions

first of all, great site! This is exactly what I needed and spent way too long sifting through the phpbb site looking for similar tools.

I plan on installing the:
mixed mod rewrite
google site map generator

What is the best stat counter to install?
Also, should I install robotstats?
Finally, where do I download the zero duplicate mod?

Stats counter can mean many different things.
To track all visitors, there is nothing more accurate than the server logs, but they need to be analysed a bit.
Awstats and Webalizer are two software's performing stats over the server's logs. Both are commonly offered by hosting companies (shared and dedicated).

Then, you could as well use Google Analytics, but, even if it's only a felling right know, I would not use Google Analytics on a web site unless the web site is already using AdSense or it it's not going to stay inactive. The best is to use it after you have reached a reasonable amount of content and visitors.

Because what Google tells you, Google knowns it as well, and I am not sure it would look this good to see accurate stats showing 5 visitors a day for any web site.

Off course there are some php scripts performing accurate statistics, but, it's a lot of server resources for not much.

Talking about tracking bots, Robotstats is a good tools, as well as Crawltrack it seems.

I've actually used one that is called stat counter as well from statcounter.com. Depending on what you need, it can provide a basic counter for your vistors to see, or better statistics for the vistors to your site.
