Why is my site not getting noticed by google?

Hey guys I run a financial forum in New Zealand. My problem is that phrases I should be ranking highly on google for are not even appearing. For example a forum I have on my site is called "Pensions & retirement planning" When I type that into google a tick NZ results only I don't show up at all. I have loads of topics in there and I should be ranking higher but I am not.

Could anyone take a look and offer any pointers? My site is -www.nzmoneytalk.co.nz

Well, reason could be many, but the obvious is that you'd get better results if you'd implement some of our SEO mods to your phpBB forum :http://nzmoneytalk.co.nz/forum/

vanilla phpBB forum are hard to deal with for SE, you could improve your ranking with url rewriting, Google sitemaps, good titles and meta and good content
