Access Denied error on the forum-sitemap.xml.gz

Hi All,

I have successfullt installed the SEO and GYM. The thing is, there is a HTTP response code 304 when google bot is trying to read the re-written sitemap file

So, when I click the SitemapIndex link on the forum page, the link is,

-http://www.sapgeeksquad.com/forum/sitemapindex.xml.gz

and works fine.

When googlebot comes on the site, the hosting site control panel "Latest Visitors' shows link like,

-http://sapgeeksquad.com/forum/sitemapindex.xml.gz

This has a missing "www." and HTTP 304 error occurs even if I manually access the URL

I know there is some very stupid fix for this but I have no clue.

I have -http://sapgeeksquad.com redirection (301) to -http://www.sapgeeksquad.com already setup

Any help here ?

Hi Dcz,

I have it correctly setup. The server settings have www prefix and so do the GYM settings.

anyways, the problem of sitemaps not being read has disappeared magically. May be google had some old cache.

Now issue is, I have some pages indexed in google, but they all have same information below the title

check, site:www.sapgeeksquad.com

I saw many phpbb forums where the indexed page entry shows few lines of the topic instead of some stale statements

Do you get any idea, what could be done to achieve this ?

Install the dynamic meta tag mod, your forum still has the static phpBB metas right now. Google will use them for the text snipets in search results.

As well, you should set the zero duplicate mod "post redirection" option to at least guest to run a duplicate free forum. Can help out.
