Google telling me I have too many redirects, so no indexing

When we tested a sample of the URLs from your Sitemap, we found that some URLs were not accessible to Googlebot because they contained too many redirects. Please change the URLs in your Sitemap that redirect and replace them with the destination URL (the redirect target). All valid URLs will still be submitted.

So basically, I'm giving them 40003 URLs in my sitemap, and only 22 are being indexed.

Is anyone familiar with what is going on here and what I might need to change?

Yes, but my sitemap file already has my URLs in SEO form, so I'm not sure why there's more than 1 redirect. Is it because the redirect is giving it a 301 when it doesn't need it?

Do you think after a year I should remove it?

Nevermind. I figured it out, thanks to www.web-sniffer.net!

My sitemap creator wasn't using the phpbb-seo formatting for the URLs, so all my URLs weren't matching up and therefore getting redirected.

It seems to be working fine, now.

aha so u used the site map but didn't do htaccess codes,is it right?

I thought GYM Sitemaps was for PHPBB3.

I'm running 2.0.

The original code was developed on phpBB2 and was released up to RC4 : http://www.phpbb-seo.com/boards/gym-sitemaps/google-yahoo-msn-sitemaps-and-rss-vt21.html

So it's not a final mod, but it's doing the job right here on phpBB SEO, few features such as RSS auth and yahoo ping do not work, but all the rest is, and pretty fast too
