Domain Name Change

Our site has only been around for about 3 months. About 3 weeks ago I did the advanced mod re-write. most of our pages are still in suplimental results, and I think the reason is because all of the meta tags were the same.(Which is BAD!) I fixed this by doing the dynamic meta tag mod. If I change the domain name will google see this as a new site and re-index all the pages? or How can I get google to recrawl everything. I'm starting to think because I have made so many changes over the last 2 months it would be better to start with a fresh domain or am I just too impatient? We dont have very many backlinks out there and those can be changed easy.

List of seo mods. all done over a period of 3 months.
1. Bot Indexing Mod 1.3.0
2. SEO Advanced mod Rewrite
3. SEO Zero dupilcate
4. Google Yahoo MSN Sitemaps and RSS (GYM)
5. SEO Optimal titles
6. SEO Dynamic Metatags
7. Renamed the phpbb folder url for better search results. But I also want to change the domain for better results

Next is rebuilding the search tables for better injection of dynamic meta tags. I like the new domain better because it has keyword I think would help with SERPs.

HTML code updates are not a problem, actually, it's the contrary, bots will like to see the content as well as the structure, as long of course as the changes are improvements.

I don't think you should change domain in this purpose only. Google will re crawl you site by itself.

But if the new domain is better SEO wise, because of the keyword in it you mentioned, it can make sens to migrate. You'd just have to make sure both domains lead to the same place and only one isn't redirected.

How long should it take for all these changes to take effect. I rebuilt the search table yesterday and that WORKS AWESOME! Nice job. I have been researching the SERPs and 95% of the sites in the top 30 have these keywords in the domain name. I really think it would be better if I changed the domain name with these keywords in it.

About time it can take some depending on how you web site is crawled and how fast is the cache usually updated for your pages.

What is for sure is they will be in google's cache next time it will update it's cache, should be a mater of a week or so in most cases, but can end up being longer and won't necessarily will be made for all the web site at once or at the same rate.

Anyway, if you really think you've got a better domain name for your web site available it can be a great thing to migrate.
Migrating domain is easy to do but must be done with care. It would be a nice new topic for the SEO technique forum I guess Wink
