i want to make a sitemap to submit to google
any suggestions on how to do that??

For phpBB, check mx Google sitmemaps Wink

You can add extra listing in the system Wink

For the static part of your site, you can crawl them using Google Site-crawler if they are not too many. This one will build a flat xml file you can directly submit, but you'll have to update it and crawling hundreds of links take some time, but it's perfect for static pages.

I dont think i want to create a sitemap as much as I want to create a sitemap xml file to submit to google--or do I have to apply the whole sitemap mod??

I am also concerned as phpbb3 is coming and the more mods i apply the harder it will be to migrate

ok i have finished installing the module

one question the sitemap_forum.php file that i applied as an advanced mod rewrite user is a couple months older than the one overwritten-that is intended??

this is going to sound real stupid but how do i get into sitemap acp?

and i can submit this sitemap.php to google now?

Well, your sitemaps installation is perfect.

ANd I see you implemented the mx Google sitemaps rewriterules correclty too as -http://www.asia-expatsforum.com/phpBB2/sitemaps.xml -http://www.asia-expatsforum.com/phpBB2/sitemap-forum.xml and -http://www.asia-expatsforum.com/phpBB2/forum-sitemap-22.xml works perfect with the correct outputed URLs Wink

So you should activate mod rewrite for Google sitemaps to output those links to sitemaps, in ACP (the mx Google Sitemaps one Wink

in phpbb's)

You'll thus be able submit your sitemapIndex (sitemaps.xml) and let it happen Very Happy

And don't worry it you already submitted it, as it outputted the correct URLs for forums, it's no big deal to just resubmit the new one, as only the sitemaps link will here be concerned.

Ok

I activated the mod rewrite in ACP--

I still dont see where i get the sitemap.xml file from

What am I missing??

that is what I thought except there is no file named sitemap.xml in that directory.

This is the mod rewrite effect Wink

Actually no physical sitemap file exists here, just like there are no physical file for topics, mod rewrite makes it so it looks exactly like it, but it's still php to work being.

If, for example a form url is like this : title-of-the-forum-vfxx.html is not linked to any physical file, but still exist as a true HTML page, just like here.

And don' t forget it's sitemaps.xml

so google will be tricked by something in the .htaccess file to believe that there is a sitemaps.xml file in that directory??
