Google Error

I submit my sitemap.php to google along with another sitemap for the site.

Google checks it and list the number of url's in the sitemap along with the other sitemap on the site.

A day or so later Google says there was 500 internal server error for the sitemap - sitemap.php yet the other sitemap doesn't have any errors.

I'm thinking there is a time out problem with google when it tries to index the url's in the sitemap.php, but not sure.

The sitemap.php has 566 url's in it.

Any ideas, I've resubmitted the sitemap.php like 3 times and always have the same result.

Moved sitemap.php from the sub directory and placed it in the root and no more 500 errors on sitemapindex, but each forum and post under the siteindex I get the 500 errror in google webmaster tools.

I took one of the forums that is getting the error and made a sitemap using the gym output header info. With info put out by sitemap.php I'm getting

Then I took and put this header info on the same sitemap and renamed it and google has no errors with it.

So it looks like you put the sitemap.php file in the domain's root dir (http://sharkattacksurvivors.com/sitemap.php) but did not updated the gym config accordingly, since the links outputted there still includes the phpBB dir (http://sharkattacksurvivors.com/shark_attack/sitemap.php?forum).

You should then either move the sitemap.php file into the phpBB dir or update the GYM config as explained in the install file for sch cases.

Hi All,

I have issues with Google and GYM sitemaps too. I use URL Re-writing and submitted the URL for sitemap,

-http://www.sapgeeksquad.com/forum/sitemapindex.xml.gz

but when google visits the site, it becomes ,

-http://sapgeeksquad.com/forum/sitemapindex.xml.gz (no www prefix) but I have redirects so it should be fine. The point is, the later URL gets an XML related errors like this.
