I'm running phpBB 3.0.2 with the german language extension. I installed gym sitemap vers. 2.0.b3 (everything was fine and working) then the I added the mixed seo mod rewrite v.0.4.4.
Now the gym sitemap (sitemap, rss channel, rss) links on the bottom of my forum (phpbb3.0.2) are gone. The sitemap generation (calling sitemap.php) still works properly, the rss feed is gone as well.
I can't see the proper mixed seo mod tab in the ACP - its actually still the gym sitemap tab showing up.
I followed the installation procedure exactly as described. I tried to uninstall the mixed seo mod rewrite but the following message appeared:
Information :
The oldule had no ID.
What the hell is going on? Can somebody please give me a hint, e.g. where to start digging... I really don't know what to do...
Thanks a lot in advance.
cheers,

It is possible that the installer was the guilty one here, nothing really problematic, but in this order, the phpBB SEO ACP cat may have been installed twice.
So, to get back to normal, got to the system ACP cat, then in the module admin panel, and delete all occurrences of the phpBB SEO cat, to do this you'll need each time to go in the lowest module level of the cat to start deleting modules in the cat one by one and then the cat.
Once you'll have deleted all the phpBB SEO ACP modules, first run the mod rewrite install and then GYM one, and everything should go back to normal.

thanks a lot for your reply.
gym and mixed mod rewrite are working fine now!
unfortunately in the system ACP cat - module configuration I managed to delete the administration-area link - so I can't go and select modules anymore...
its very stupid I know but I can't recover it anymore. do you have a clue what to do?
cheers,

And you still have access to the forum ?
Usually, if config.php cannot be found, it means that phpBB need to be installed, you may just need to put the file back as it was before it was deleted if it's the case.
About the ACP modules, I was of course only talking about the one in the phpBB SEO cat, as well as all the modules installed in it, nothing more.
So now, I'm not sure : You seems to have made it, and then deleted the Module admin itself, and then config.php ?
And you do not have db backups correct ?
I'm pretty sure that it should be possible to re install the acp module without re installing phpBB, but I've never have to do it until now, maybe you could post about this on phpBB.com, there must be a way to get ACP¨module back when accidentally deleted!

your explanations were fine i just messed around to much...the forum works fine so far. i just can't access the administration area anymore...
first of all - thanks for your support.
the config.php file is there and also containing the proper settings.
what i did is the following:
test environment:
i set up phpbb3 with gym and mixed mode attached to a test db. everything is fine and working there.
productive environment:
i uninstalled gym and mixed mod and reinstalled the 2 mods with the same files as above. here is also where i deleted the administration module in cat system. therefore i tried to add some records (table pbpbb_modules) in the database to make it correspond with the test db. gym and mixed mod look fine from "outside". trying to enter the admin area shows the error stated above.
i don't know if i
a) should reinstall phpbb3 and then attach it to the old database (with the deleted admin acp in its records - I didn't know that this would be stored in the db!)
b) take a 2 days old backup of the db...(admin acp still there, but i don't know about the gym tables) which may not fit to the new install anymore
c) reinstall phpbb3 from scratch and move the relevant contents (user, postings) to the new database...but what tables are relevant?
cheers,

hi. the problem seems to be fixed so far - thanks.
i noticed just one odd thing:
i deleted all cache, refreshed themes, templates, etc.
on my mac with safari (home) the phbpp seo tab contains gym and mod rewrite properly displayed and selectable.
on a pc with IE 6.0 (at work)the same tab (phb seo) ist corrupted, i.e. the gym part ist missing.
do you know what may have happened?
cheers,
cesare |

Could be two things, you either need to make sure you properly modded (or that the required code is in place in case you used premodded files, you could have forgotten the file) adm/admin.css (and cleared the theme's cache in the style acp once done) or, just IE trying to use it's cached admin.css file on the page, if so, clearing IE's cache should be enough to get the proper display.
