Hi,
I have installed gym_sitemapsV1-2-0RC4 without any errors and I configured it WITHOUT mod_rewrite (my hosting server does NOT support it).
I was able to generate sitemaps.php and rss.php: the latter is working great but the first does not: URLs for phpBB2 forums have incorrect format:
http://<my site>/phpBB2/sitemap.php?forum=#
whereas the correct format should be:
http://<my site>/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=#
Any idea on how to solve this isssue ? (I am a beginner on php....)
Help is highly appreciated!!! Thank you. |

OK, I am still investigating the issue above and (pheraphs) I found the problem): when I generated sitemap.php the first time, I MOOVED (and not COPYED) this file from /phpBB2 to /, also setting $phpbb_root_path = './phpBB2/'
I have just tried to let a copy of sitemap.php also in /phpBB2 and now the URLs seem to me right but... I am waiting for a google respnse
Please confirm me if this is the correct way to proceed...

It's normal to see urls such as phpBB2/sitemap.php?forum=xx, these are not url to your forums, but url to your forum sitemaps, listing topics url.
That's how the mods works, sitemap.php is your sitemapindex, and it's only listing the available sitemaps, not content from the forum.
The mod will automatically create and maintain one sitemap per forum and one sitemap listing all the forum urls.
Then, I'm not sure about your second message, moving the sitemap.php file will only get rid of the phpBB/ path in the sitemaps url, since they will appear in the same folder where sitemap.php is installed. The forum url will stay the same.
