and once finished I should submit which file to google??

these are mx sitemaps rewriterules, they stay the same with the update, so you can leave them Wink

About the go go sitemaps, you still need to submit the same sitemapindex, but before this, you need to activate mod rewrite in acp, and make sure you'll output the correct links : -http://asia-expatsforum.com/phpBB2/sitemap.php?forum=23

They are not auto rewritten so far, as you did not update the mod rewrite itself, they would if you'd done it Wink

Before the update, you can still activate mod rewrite and set mod rewrite type to advanced.

But updating mod rewrite is a good thing to do, I'm sure you'll love the zero dupe Wink

I am really not sure what I am supposed to do now. that mod rewrite is already acivated in acp

so what do i do next??

I don't think it is, the links are not rewritten.

Try activating the XSLt styling for Google sitemaps, so you'll be able to browse you sitemaps and find out about the links easier.

So far -http://www.asia-expatsforum.com/phpBB2/sitemap.php?forum=23
and -http://www.asia-expatsforum.com/phpBB2/sitemaps.xml do not show any rewritten links.

Ok

now I just see the new section in admin cp

i activated themod rewite and set to advanced--i hope that is ok

not yet, there is a header problem it seems, as well, the rewritten forum sitemaps links are not working yet : -http://asia-expatsforum.com/phpBB2/india-forum-gf33.xml

Have you implemented the .htaccess ?

Have you changed anything, because, it's strange the header got messed up like this. The sitemapindex is now looking like txt, but it's true xml.

I don't thinks this would be a problem for Google, but still, should not happen.

the htaccess had not been uploaded properly--i just uploaded again

I'm sure you're able to find out if a link goes 404 before Google tels you Wink

Well, actually, it's just looking like you did not upload the ggs_style/ folder in phpBB/.

I did not noticed you'd turned the xslt styling on, so that's probably why the sitemap is not styled properly, but it's ok for Google now Wink

Try uploading the ggs_style/ folder, you'll see a nice layout Wink

the folder is there since i started the mod

and activated styles in CP

so something is amiss

hum, strange, because -http://www.asia-expatsforum.com/phpBB2/ggs_style/mxgss.xsl is here.

Google won't care about this, but, should work.

Could you try activating styling for rss feeds as well, so we can see it here : http://www.asia-expatsforum.com/phpBB2/rss.xml if it works.
