But i dont have a clue of how to use this.
How can i show my rss feed on other websites?
what advantage i have of submit rss.php to yahoo instead urllist.php or sitemap.php??

I discover google reader and utility wich users can use to read the feeds. But i want a portion of the content to be shown in the feed. How can i do that. I try several combinations of configurations in GYM sitemaps control panel, and only the tittle is shown here:
http://www.tupincho.net/foro/rss.php
In the GYM acp says:
Each feed has three additional options: Long list, standard list and short list. The length of each of these three can be set to output or not the full post content.
But i cannot find how to show the content of the post in the feed!! i mean, i want to show the title and some sentences with the content of the post. In order the reader can be interested in visiting the site due the content of the post. |

Yes. I found how this works, its really difficult to figure it out. I really discover how this works reading a introductory text on boybuilding.com rss feeds.
FOR NEWBIES LIKE ME:
| Quote: | What Is RSS?
RSS, also known as "Really Simple Syndication", is a popular method of sharing information (such as news headlines) without requiring you to sign up to our email notifications or constantly visit our website to see what's new.
Bodybuilding.com's RSS feeds contain headlines, article snippets, and links. This enables you to "preview" each article, then click to view the full article if it's something you're interested in. This service is provided free-of-charge.
Is This Free?
Yes, Bodybuilding.com provides all of these RSS feeds for free. Additionally, many feedreaders are also free to download and use. Some commercial products do charge, but it is absolutely possible (and very common) to handle all your RSS needs for free.
How Do I Read/Subscribe To These Feeds?
Software applications known as "newsreaders", "feedreaders", or "aggregators" can collect, update and display RSS feeds from a wide variety of sources. Additionally, web-based and email-based options are also emerging.
Typically, you can drag and drop the orange XML button (or copy and paste the link) into your feedreader, then click "subscribe". The application will then automatically go fetch the available news, display it to you, and periodically check it for updates. Voila!
Where Can I Get An RSS Reader?
Each feedreader is slightly different, so you may find yourself testing several before picking your favorite. Some are standalone applications, some are web-based, and some are plugins for browsers and email clients. |
Please note that this is a copy and paste from other website, so the free service is not free in all websites.
Ok. Later i found the post previusly linked by DCZ and discover this:
www.tupincho.net/foro/rss.xml.gz
www.tupincho.net/foro/channels-rss.xml.gz
www.tupincho.net/foro/channels-rss-m.xml.gz (digest)
www.tupincho.net/foro/channels-rss-l.xml.gz (long)
www.tupincho.net/foro/channels-rss-s.xml.gz (small)
www.tupincho.net/foro/channels-rss-s-m.xml.gz and (small digest)
www.tupincho.net/foro/channels-rss-l-m.xml.gz (long digest)
www.tupincho.net/foro/forum-rss.xml.gz
www.tupincho.net/foro/board-rss.xml.gz
www.tupincho.net/foro/forums-rss.xml.gz
www.tupincho.net/foro/boards-rss.xml.gz
I only know the main /foro/rss.php file. But the file is programmed to work in diferent ways depending on how do you call it. Like the command line on linux or old ms-DOS.
I prefer that DCZ explain in detail wich information is contained in each of this feeds. And where can we locate the individual rss feed for each of our forums. In mine for example exist 18 individual feeds:
and are located inside a main feed: http://www.tupincho.net/foro/channels-rss-l-m.xml
Examples of individual forum feeds:
http://www.tupincho.net/foro/esteroides-anabolicos-y-otros-compuestos-ciclos-orales-y-o-inyectables-rf15-l-m.xml
http://www.tupincho.net/foro/dietas-y-nutricion-rf4-l-m.xml
This last ones are the feeds im gonna use to provide my visitors updated news about the latest post in my board.
Also i want to ask: there is one general feed (long format) where my users can see the latest posts, with digest, and content?? mixed from all the forums in my entire board i mean.
And final question. Could you explain how yahoo rss notifications works? |

You're close to a nice how too
I know we miss doc, but time will come, and I am sure you're already finding the mod useful

http://www.phpbb-seo.com/rss-l-m.xml
Is the long feed where you'll find items with content from all available sources (plug-ins) installed.
The default package does not contain plug-ins, so on a regular install, this one is the same as :
http://www.phpbb-seo.com/forum-rss-l-m.xml
But here, as you can see, it's as well listing items from :
http://www.phpbb-seo.com/board-rss-l-m.xml
rss.xml is listing all available sources (from the files rss_*.php).
Yahoo notification is a bit experimental, if you registered for a yahoo appID, just set in in the module acp, and activate the notification.
Each time a forum feed ( http://www.phpbb-seo.com/phpbb-forum-rb30-l-m.xml.gz ) gets cached (or caches get updated) the url will be sent to yahoo.

About plug-ins, you'll understand better soon.
The idea is this mod will allow extended support on other mods.
We'll provide "plug-ins" you'll just need to upload in the mx_ggsitemaps/includes/ folder to see them working.
Will be useful to include extended sitemaps and rss feeds for modules like smartor album or kb.
Then, yahoo notification was dev before the united sitemap protocol, it is thus now a bit less interesting. The idea is, yahoo is supposed to crawl rss feeds when it gets notified, and then, follow links found in them.
It's good for indexing.
