I started it in December 2004 with no experience of building websites at all. I know plenty about DIY and Home Improvement, but not so much about websites, html, or php.
There is a forum installed on the site, where people can ask questions if they cannot find the answer on the main site http://www.ultimatehandyman.co.uk/forum1/
I admit that I struggle with the mods for the forum and so there are a few people that help me install the mods 
There are some really helpful people on the net and I have received much help with the site from several forums, this one included and so thanks to everyone that has helped me along the way
All the pages on the main site are being re-made using CSS instead of font tags etc. This is very time consuming and I do often struggle to find the time, but I am sure it will be worth it in the end!
The site is well indexed in Google and this has improved recently thanks to the phpBB mod Rewrite. It is my aim to make my site the best DIY website on the net and so I have lots of work to do. One day I may even give up my full time job as a shift worker then I can concentrate on the site more 
Any comments good are bad are welcome
