www.pvchat.com -- Palos Verdes Community ForumPosted: Sat Sep 01, 2007 11:23 pm    Post subject: www.pvchat.com -- Palos Verdes Community Forum

http://www.pvchat.com

My first stab at creating a website, mostly as an intellectual exercise. I'm using phpbb3 and most of the SEO mods with a few tweaks here and there.

Any tips or feedback would be welcome!

Thanks for a great set of mods... and add me to the list of people waiting patiently for the phpbb3 version of sitemap tools. Wink

Green sticks! wow, that is a really nice looking phpbb3 site there. It's the first CMS or content system, that i've seen so far for phpbb3, that is looking really clean and sharp. Contrats! Cool

:edit to say, besides phpbb.com of course:

Oops - I saw those pages listed right after I made that post. The site has been live for about 4 weeks but I've been making changes along the way.

I think my current setup of a home page at www.pvchat.com and the phpbb forum index page as www.pvchat.com/forum/ with no actual file name might be keeping the search engines from crawling the index and finding posts. Although I do see my index page in Google now so who knows.

An ideas on why the formatting of the Google cached version of my home page gets messed up? Hmm... Looking at the cache source, it looks like the css style.php has a sid attached which I bet is the problem.

About the forum/ without script homepage, don't worry, bots do see the page as you do and will follow the links from there and they actually did : 38 cached pages today : http://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Awww.pvchat.com (34 new ones in 2 days Very Happy)
It was just the time required for Google to decide himself Wink

About the messed up cache, it's just CSS, I guess the wrapping code added by Google is responsible for it. That's all.
