Here is my site:

www.simplyreality.com

my forum is a subfolder at http://simplyreality.com/forum

and my blog is also a subfolder at http://simplyreality.com/blog

I have only one module installed: Disable editing replied posts. So my site is ready to any installation, because we haven't changed anything in it yet.

I don't plan to make it crowded. I just want one more module: report a post. I have it, but it includes SQL script and I didn't know how to install it. I will try again this weekend.

Then off to your SEO toolkits. It's just I am a bit lost between robots.txt, gogle sitemaps, and the mod_rewrite kits, and the .htaccess and, and... Rolling Eyes There is so much that it is a headache for people who are new at this Shocked

Thank you for this forum btw. I am going to bother you for a little while. But I am a very quick learner Smile

And what on earth is a backlink Sad

Nice forum Wink

And first hint advice, you should not use a meta Refresh on the domain's root.

You can HTTP 301 redirect instead, or add a welcome page with links to your forum and blog, but meta refresh are not real good for PageRanking.

So please ask for support in the concerned forums Wink

you might want to consider increasing the font size a bit. I think its too small. But overall design is nice! :0

I have never heard of the HTTP 301 Embarassed I will look it up in google.

Actually, I want to add a welcome page, but I have been waiting to learn more about RSS to add latest blog entry and latest forum entries to it. I figured it would be useless to just put a page there that does nothing. Waste of time for members, especially in case they have slow connection.

I will definitely ask for support, however, I wish like you had a map that says you should add:
1-
2-
3-

I am going to prepare my own map and ask for your advice. If this is what I need, I will concentrate on it. I can't add every single thing.

BTW, I just successfuly added the report a post module in the test forum. My first module with SQL Smile

Thank you. I never thought about the font. I had been using the template on another forum and used the same on my own. A friend of mine designed the banner Smile

So far, all the modules I have read are for phpBB 2.0.22.
Will the modules work for other versions? Can you please reply before I read any further.

The best is not to wonder and only play with up to date phpBB versions Wink

Hi, I'm back.

I stopped wondering and decided to start over Wink

It was new anyway, so instead of cleaning up, I closed the old one and started working on a new one that isn't indexed yet, and totally clean.

I will go to the related forums and start working.

The site still has the same name but /forum is closed. When I set up the new one, I will put a link here

See you around Smile

It all depends on what is the meta refresh used for, if it"'s to refresh the page, then, it's not really useful, but oh well, and if it's to redirect to somewhere else, then, it's a bad thing SEO wise, bots will have trouble with it.

Start a new thread if needed.
