Install "mixed mod rewrite V0-2-4" with EasyMod

Hi,

I am new to this forum. The owner or Admin of this forum was helping me with SEO in phpbb.com/community and referred me to this forum so I am here seeking help on this mod "mixed_mod_rewriteV0-2-4."

I've read all of the instructions and things related to this mod "mixed_mod_rewriteV0-2-4" on various threads. I saw that the installation of this mod is advanced but this "release" thread says EZmod can be used to install this mod "mixed_mod_rewriteV0-2-4."

Question 1a:
I used EasyMod to install some mods before but I have never tried to use it to install "mixed_mod_rewriteV0-2-4" thus, I would like some instructions. Could you please show me how to install this mod using EasyMod?

Question 1b:
Is there any caution I need to be aware of?

Question 1b ii:
I am concerned that EasyMod may cause some errors and I don't know how to fix them so would it be easier if I install this mod by manually modifying the stated files mentioned in "phpBB-SEO-mixed-mod-Rewrite_V_0.2.4.txt" that I downloaded at this thread?

Question 2a:
If I can use EasyMod to install this mod "mixed_mod_rewriteV0-2-4" then I have to upload CyberAlien's "Guest Sessions" mod onto "includes/sessions.php" first before installing the mod "mixed_mod_rewriteV0-2-4" using the EasyMod, correct?

Question 2b:
I was instructed to upload CyberAlien's mod at the same time as the "mixed_mod_rewriteV0-2-4." This sounds contradicting to what I present in question 2 above. That is why I am confused.

Can you please clarify what I asked in each part of the above questions for me? Please address all parts of my questions as clearly as possible because I am new to this stuff. Thank you.

I am eager to install all of your SEO mods to help my forum and want to install the mixed_mod_rewriteV0-2-4 correctly.

Don't worry it's pretty simple, it's just that every time we deal with .htaccess, small exceptions may apply.

I suggest you proceed manually, the code change are not hard to find, and not many.

If you do not fell safe with it, you should first try to install the mod on a local test board, using easyphp for example. It's not time loss, since it should make it very easy to go online after.

EZmod won't do the .htaccess part, it should work with the phpBB file editing though, but I do not use it.

You can install the cyber alien guests sessions mod after before or at the same time, it's just required, there is no specified order.

I always prefer to install manually, allows me to make sure I'm doing everything correctly.

Very true, even if it can be a bit more difficult at first, in the end, it's not time lost.
