Hello, I have done the mixed mod rewrite and it worked perfectly. Good job! But I want to know how to inject some topics (not all) into the URL. I don't want to install the advanced mod rewrite because I don't want all the topics injected in the URL. So please how do I inject some topics individually?
I have tried this but it didn't work:
RewriteRule ^forum/mytopic\.html$ /forum/topic54.html [QSA,L,NC] |

And welcome
The feature you're asking for is not supported by our mods. It would imply many more modifications and I'm not very sure it would make this much difference.
If you have very good articles to post, maybe you want to use a cms for them, instead of a forum. It will always be better IMHO.
Because content get naturally buried in forum pagination, and you cannot post too many stickies and announcements in each forums.

Ok, thanks dcz. I think I will do the Advanced Mod rewrite then. But how do I upgrade from the mixed mod rewrite to the advanced mod rewrite? Any guidelines?
Also, the mod rewrite for vbulletin that injects topics does exclude commonly used conjunctions like "and" "of" "in", etc in the URL. I think this is a really good idea. How can I make this advanced mod rewrite to do the same for me?
Thanks. |

If you were to upgrade to Advanced, uninstall the mixed mod rewrite and install the advanced mod rewrite.
Then you will want the Zeo Dupe MOD to 301 all your old mixed mod rewrite URL's to Advanced mod rewrite URL's.
You will need to keep both your old mixed rewrite rules and the advanced mod rewrite rules in your .htcaccess file for this to work.
And about the useless keywords like "oh" "hmm" "lmao" ect, you can rebuild your search engine tables... more info on here. also very useful for the Dynamic meta tag keyword MOD |
