Hi there is one MSN utility like google sitemaps to inform msn bots wich pages are the best content ones? or simply submit your main page and wait robots to spider?
I have installed mod rewrite mixed mode. Enough for msn? |

Yeah, i was working on backlinks since the first time you toldme, really hard work, besides i havent told you. I register on 300 aprox directories 2 days ago. I have a list of like 2000 more, but manually is a living hell. Im waiting for my partner in order to helpme.
But is a good idea have my forum fully SEO when that robots came to crowl my site.
Because of that i ask... jejeje
I will work a little more on backlinks and submissions. |

Remember that 10 quality backlinks are more important then 1,000 random backlinks.  |

I struggle getting backlinks from related sites as most of them are competitors and so they would not be keen to swap links as my site is better lol  |

Well, link exchange is a bit off topic, but still, I think you and at least some of your competitors could have an interest in exchanging some links with you.
As well, thinking about the DIY field, I think you could work on exchanging backlinks with tools, gardening, and material dealers, even plumbers and other pro in the field actually.
The interest would be really shared here, since some pro could be interested in giving DIY advices (since many people do DIY while they hires pros at the same time to renew their house) and to get linked from a web site where people are searching for such services.
You could target small business at first, since the big ones should be willing to pay for adds instead.
SEO wise it'd be really related too

That makes a lot of sense
I have contacted a few firms in the past to make general enquiries about helping with content for my site, but hardly any even reply at all- they don't even tell you to get lost
I have had quite a few small firms join the forum and then spam it with links to their site though.
There is an article somewhere on the net that says that reciprocal linking is dead and that you should not bother with it, I will try and find the page
EDIT: just do a Google for " reciprocal linking is dead" and hundreds of pages are available. |

I do not agree, off course it's all a matter of what really is your reciprocal linking strategy, but still, who said we should not build backlinks ?
Link exchange does not necessarily means exchanging links on a basic link page, it never was efficient to run pages with many unrelated links and no text content, but this is another story.
Feel free to start a new topic if you want to elaborate a bit more

Well back then, phpBB SEO had the whole first page of result on msn (geolocated France).
Not the case anymore, it's only half the first page results now : http://search.msn.com/results.aspx?q=phpbb+seo
Most likely, it's not the same from everywhere, but, if only msn would matter more  |
