new error on my site Confused

The PM popup on portal give me in Internet Explorer an error

mmh, interesting. This is a phpBB link, I am not sure it's a genuine error, could be IE security settings to disallow pop ups from different domains. Could you send the full html code of the pop up, because the error message does not tell much. ++

ok I see, this must be because of the sub domain setting and the privmsg.php?folder=inbox link not mentioning the domain.

Look in the page_header.php's for :

'U_PRIVATEMSGS' => append_sid('privmsg.'.$phpEx.'?folder=inbox'),

Then, the problem with phpBB is that there are no handy solution to retrieve the forum URL.

The best way to deal with absolute links in phpBB is to add a PHPBB_URL constant as per mxBB.

To do this, open common.php, the phpBB one, and add this at the end :

if ( !defined('PHPBB_URL') ) {
define('PHPBB_URL', 'http://www.example.com/phpbb/');
}

Changing of courses http://www.example.com/phpbb/ to the correct URL to you forum, with the ending "/" !

Then, you'll be able to use PHPBB_URL anywhere in phpBB code, just like in the mxBB code Wink

The line of code involved in the pm link should thus become :

Looking again at the code I think it's either an IE security settings or a template problem, try uploading a fresh privmsg_popup.tpl to see if it' fixes it. ++

tpl doesn`t help, but the problem is only in IE Fireworks make no error.

The thing is, if it's a security setting, then, it must come from the two links being linked to too different domains.

I don't find where we missed :

href="privmsg.php?folder=inbox"

in phpBB files.

Because the JS links to your subdomain, and this one when on portal don't.

This should be asked at phpBB.com I guess.
