How to Hide + Code links automatically

I am fairly new to phpbb and was wondering if there is any solution available that will automatically hide and code links posted by my forums registered users automatically.

I was reading on here somewhere that there is a function that makes any http link posted on phpbb click-able automatically I was wondering if I can replace that function with the function to automatically hide and code the link, but will not do it if the link is already in that state.

Anyone got some ideas? I really need this for my website to prevent spider crawling of links & to get users to register more often.

I'm not sure to fully get it here. What do you mean by "coding links" ?

If you want to deactivate link posted, this thread will help you, the deter comment spam mod can as well be a pretty good solution to add nofollow tags on external links.
