Hiya, I have just noticed this, I don't know exactly how long it has been going on but the last person who registered on my forum was August 16th!

When a user goes to register and fills out all the details they get redirected to the index.php page and they are not registered, could this be anything to do with the seo mods I have added?

Or has anyone ever heard of this and know a fix?

The mod rewrite do not interfere with registering process, it's left untouched.

Could you post or PM a link so I can try myself ?

anti spam maybe.

I tried to register and once all info entered I got redirected to the login box and it is impossible to log-in.

You should concentrate your debug efforts on includes/usercp_register.php and consider activating visual confirmation and user activation as a basic anti spam prevention

I have disabled user activation while I'm trying to work this out, It just doesn't want to work -

Try comparing your includes/usercp_register.php with a fresh one, using winmerge for example

I have uploaded a 'clean' copy of usercp_register.php and it's still the same, do you know what other files registration uses?

usercp_activate.php could cause this too I think, but I am quite surprised the uploading of a clean file does not fix it.

It must be a mod you installed that either dealt with profile or registering.

I will go through the files and see what has been changed, and then if that doesn't work I guess a clean install is in order.

Don't you keep backups ?

You could compare file being older than August 16th with the current ones to find out which mod you installed.

I did up until 2 weeks ago and though they were not needed any more and deleted them -

Once this is sorted out I will be keeping them and labelling them up with dates next time, we live and learn.

After going through every file uploading them and testing creating an account I found the problem -

A missing </form> in overall_header.tpl

These are the kind of mistakes the harder to debug, just take this as an occasion to implement a real backup strategy and all of this will have been a useful stress
