Title tag and Meta description issues

Hi everyone,

Well, my english is kind poor but I will try to explain myself at maximum I can.
First, this is about my phpbb forum: -http://www.*****.com

Last year, my site was getting many visitors because for many months, in www.google.pt searching with the keyword "sexo" my site appears in the first page. Sometimes in 2nd place and sometimes in 3 or 4th. But, dont know why, disappeared from the first pages... and if I look at the first 100 pages, I cant find him.

In another words:
If I search for site:www.*****.com, the results show that my pages are being indexed, I have something like 163.000 indexed links.
However, key word searches where I the site was number 2, 3 or 4 (sexo) have now completely disappeared. Also, text string searches don't return results as well.

What could be happened? Is this happened with someone else?
Can someone help me pelase?

Its possible to use different titles and descriptions in forum categories and topics? I know that is possible with VBulletim, with phpBB dont know... is there any mod that could help me doing this automatic?

For sure, using unique title and meta is the way to go, and this is not what phpBB2 and 3 actually does by default.

I'm sure you'll be pleased with these two mods :

Optimal titles
Dynamic meta tags

About your site disappearing from the results for some queries, it could only be temporary (it happens). How long has been lasting for already ?

For sure unique titles and meta will help, have you installed some URL rewriting as well ?

I have installed Dynamic meta tags yesterday, I will install Optimal titles today also.

Dont know if temporary, my site was gone about almost a year. Hope you're right.

Well if you installed the dynamic meta tag mod, you need to wait now, Google need to re-crawl all your pages to acknowledge the update.

Well the reoport does not mention your new urls yet, so this means that they do not take into account the new meta code, so ... you need to wait for google to recache these pages Wink

Well, short seems better than nothing anyway, the problem is, we won't update the phpBB2 mods any more ...

Besides, meta tags are not this important, as long as they are related to the actual content of each page, which is the case.
