Redirection problemPosted: Tue Nov 21, 2006 12:25 pm    Post subject: Redirection problem

Hi,

I am using advanced seo mod. I just noticed that the email notification that people get for new message in the topic ( pls see below for reference ) doesnot utilise advanced mod rewrite. It still displays old links. Can u explain please.

Hello,

You are receiving this email because you are watching the topic, "URGENTLY REQD MALE AND FEMALE MODELS." at Myforum. This topic has received a reply since your last visit. You can use the following link to view the replies made, no more notifications will be sent until you visit the topic.

If you no longer wish to watch this topic you can either click the "Stop watching this topic link" found at the bottom of the topic above, or by clicking the following link:

Explain Laughing

You said it all, no rewriting for those so far Wink

But, I started working a bit on this, there is still a small pagination issue (I had no time to work further on this, but it seems the page is not always the correct one in the link, I'll check this soon), but we are close to what the update will do.

Anyway, it's not important at all, especially when running the zero duplicate.
As you'll see, it's almost more code changes than the complete mod rewrite install to just rewrite those, so it will be an add-on to the mod for those who'll want everything rewritten (everything stands here for more than SEO requires Wink ).

Well I wonder how, unless their browser does not support server redirections, which I doubt, unless the problem comes from the other scripts running your numerous adds.

Anyway it's working now http://www.newindianmodels.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=8

Well, it really looks like the post does not exist : http://www.newindianmodels.com/forum/post333.html

Many reason could lead to this, like a spam or regular post deleted for whatever reason after it was posted thus notification sent.

The phpBB SEO mods do not affect this part of the phpBB process in any way, I really think nothing is happening here Wink

The posts links are working on you forum : http://www.newindianmodels.com/forum/post290.html

Redirection problemPosted: Mon Nov 27, 2006 7:15 pm    Post subject: Re: Redirection problem

Well, the fact these links are not redirected shows we did not even hit any added code.

It's a phpBB side issue.

Actually, I tried to search for the first example's topic : "Female Models Required" and could not find it in your forum.

It really seem the mentioned post does not exist. It could be some phpBB DB sync problem, or something with the phpBB notifications.

Do you receive yourself such notifications ?

Does this deals with private forums ?

Maybe this can help you Wink

Pls note that the posts do exist and yes I myself have recvd these email notifications. I do understand that these cud be created due to some other reasons as well but can you be so kind to help. I remember changing the name of the forum in which these topics are posted. Can it be due to that ? How can I correct it ?

I am quoting the corressponding topics url to show you that posts do exist.

Redirection problemPosted: Tue Nov 28, 2006 8:06 am    Post subject: Re: Redirection problem

This is going rather of topic, could you edit the topic tittle ? I'll move this in the phpBB forum.

anyway, in
http://www.newindianmodels.com/forum/female-models-required-vt5-15.html

the last post is http://www.newindianmodels.com/forum/post205.html#205, so it's rather normal the link with id 314 does not work, the post really does not exists.

The thing is a newly posted topic seems to work well : http://www.newindianmodels.com/forum/sandhya-nair-female-indian-model-vt164.html vs http://www.newindianmodels.com/forum/post341.html

As said this could be a notification or db issue (after a db restore with problems for examples).

This is the kind of think not easy to debug remotely.

I advise you to download winmerge and compare a bit posting.php and includes/functions_post.php with vanilla 2.0.21 ones.
If no mods where installed on these, you should be able to see if anything is wrong in no time, if not, to check these changes.

If nothing shows up, then it's most likely a db issue, to be solved at phpBB.com.

Redirection problemPosted: Sat Dec 02, 2006 12:45 pm    Post subject: Re: Redirection problem

I think it's the best thing to do, because there is something wrong within the notification process in your case.

Again, this is not linked in any manner to the mod rewrite. Do not get people lost with .htaccess at phpBB.com Wink

Your .htacces seems correct, please use our mod_rewrite forum to take care of such things.
