similar topics mod

hi

i remember i read somewhere in this forum about similar topic mod
this mod use full text search function

full text search doesn't work in UTF-8 and mysql 4
but i saw that vbulletin (3.6.x) has a mod like this mod that work perfectly
with UTF-8

i think someone solved the problem
have anybody any information about it

i have installed that mod
it doesn't work with persian language at all
now i have installed similar topic that is working with full text search

now this mod works if you have english words in title
for example:

but when you don't have english words, this mod can not find similar persian words in titles. im sure that someone is solved this problem
VB has this feature and it works with persian language with out any problem

there is some information about utf-8 and full text search

Are you able to perform search on topic titles using the regular phpBB search function ?

Well, I guess we have to work on this

But if the phpBB search on topic titles is possible, then it will work

So there most likely will be some limitation.

phpBB 2 was lately designed to support utf-8, phpBB3 will do it a lot better so it will work for sure.

Till then, we should be able to do something, and I think this mod is a good base to start from.

I'll have a look at it after the updates

you are right
sometimes it works with persian words.
for example this topic

تغییر = change

at the bottom of the page the similar mod found two other topic with this keyword but for word گوگل similar mod can not find similar topic.
