subforum topic number calculation

hi

i have a little problem with simple subforum
i have a a forum that has three subforum
each subforum contain 500 topic
in index page we must see the 1500 topic (in topic number counter part)
but it shows us 0 because we dont have any post in parent forum.



how can i solve it ?
