I'm looking for this functionality on my phpbb, any ideas?

Name: Last Post Text on Forum Index
Description: I would like this mod to display the text of the latest post of a particular forum.
Notes / Comments: I am using this as sort of a global announcement system where i want to display the text of the latest post from my announcements forum on the index.

I am using the extreme styles mod if this helps in the coding of the mod. I tried using phpbbfetchall but couldn't get it to work but that doesn't mean much as I am still trying to learn how to code mods.
