phpBB SEO's Mod-RewritePosted: Thu Nov 23, 2006 5:42 am    Post subject: phpBB SEO's Mod-Rewrite

Hello,

How can I apply phpBB SEO's method of mod-rewrite, like the URLs below?
None of your MODs appear to make these URLs.

Thanks.

And welcome Very Happy

This has been asked for quite some time. You're correct, this is not what the released phpBB SEO mod rewrite are doing.

This is still experimental, and will most likely only be available on this site for phpBB3.

phpBB SEO's Mod-RewritePosted: Sat Dec 09, 2006 6:50 am    Post subject: Re: phpBB SEO's Mod-Rewrite

Hello,

Thanks for the response. I hope you can release this code for phpBB2, but if you can't I am sure I can find a way around it.

I also notice that when you visit:
http://www.phpbb-seo.com/boards/viewtopic.php?t=126

The URL automatically changes to the seo version.

Can you release the code you are using to do this change?

Thanks.

Is this a threat Laughing

Actually, I am currently putting together the new core for the phpBB SEO mod rewrites and the new method could, I said "could", make it possible for such type of rewriting in a releasable way.

Then the zero duplicate is currently going through a testing phase, the code is pretty much final now and will be released with the updates.

The thing is the new mod rewrite method will change quite some things, so I don't want to release any more module patch before this.

I had IRL lately, and things will start moving a lot faster as far as release during this end of 2006.

Sweet, I am looking forward to your next release. I just installed your Advanced mod-rewrite.

If you need any beta testers, I'd be happy to help.

Will any of these changes damage my PR5 website I am running?
This is basically changing a lot of the virtual file structures.

Well, you should not leave your site offline too long, bots do not like 404's at all, especially if they last to much in time.

And you have go to loose here, with 23 000 indexed page in Google.

So as it does not looks like you used any url rewriting before, you should just put your board up asap with the mod rewrite up and running and install the zero dupe I pm you right now.
