how to uninstall mx sitemaps 0.2.2...

Hi,
I've installed mx sitemaps 0.2.2 after the mod rewrite, and it worked just fine... however I'm a little confused because the sitemaps it makes don't seem to be useful for google at all. So I assume what I really need to get is the GYM sitemap mod? If that is correct, could someone please point me as to how to get rid of mx sitemaps 0.2.2? I can do the db_uninstall part just fine, but then it is still there in ACP. If I am wrong about this and this mx sitemaps mod IS supposed to make google compatible sitemaps... what am i doing wrong? I have submitted to google, but am getting errors back saying the sitemap is not correct. My site is at http://www.amarandpreet.com with the sitemap url for mxsitemaps 0.2.2 being: http://www.amarandpreet.com/sitemaps.html

Any help would be appreciated.

Well yes, mx sitemaps is building html sitemaps, but it really is useful SEO wise, and can as well be handy for your users.

Wouldn't you like to have well Ranked pages providing with links to your content ?

http://www.phpbb-seo.com/board-map.html PR5
...

For sure it's not submittable to Google, it's not a Google sitemap, but it can really help to build PageRank as well as it will still help out bots in indexing.

GYM sitemaps is the mod building Google sitemaps (xml) that can be submitted to Google yahoo and msn, as well as nicely SEOed RSS feeds.
But it won't help PageRanking, it will only help ( a lot though) for faster indexing and cache updating.

Both these mods are useful and they nicely work together.

Anyway if you really want it, to un-isntall, you just need, in addition to running the sql un-install script, to delete all the file you uploaded when installing, nothing more, it's a module Wink

Thank your for the helpful reply. I think I understand the concept better now. I'm going to go ahead and have both modules installed now. Looks like the GYM module is working great for google indexing.
