Dynamic Meta tags not letting me hard code description or kw

Hi All,

I've just installed this modification, and it says:
// Here you can hard code a static default title, description and keywords
// As is, the mod will return information based on the phpbb config7

in phpbb_seo_class.php

'meta_title' => 'WORKS FINE',
'meta_desc' => 'DOES NOT WORK',
'meta_keywords' => 'DOES NOT WORK',

The extra titles I put into the meta_title works great, but any extra content I put into description or keywords simply does not show alongside the generated data.

Please can someone help???

mm, should have checked before my last answer, mod rewrite is now working Very Happy

Anyway, looking at your source code, it seems that you are using the same meta tags on every pages, which is really not a good idea.
As well, both description and keywords are way too long, up to being counter productive.

The idea is to provide with dynamic and related data in the meta tags.
Adding repeated content in these even few is not very efficient IMHO.

As well, you should use an external .js file instead of putting so much code in the page's head area.

Hi, Thanks for the advise... i'll certainly look into getting rid of the js.

So as soon as I impliment the meta tags that will fix the problem off the same meta tags on every page... but I still need my existing keywords and descriptions to appear at www.magicworld.co.uk/forums/index.php But this is also re-written by the meta tags...

How can I hard code my current meta information into just the index.php page. As i'm ranked very well on google for index.php for keywords like talk magic, or magic discussion which are all current keywords.

The rest of the pages would then would have the generated meta information.
