re Adding Content in mx Google Sitemaps listings :

I am about to add my additional urls to the url_list .txt file but would like to ask a question first.

Should I add the .php files to the list i.e
http://www.asia-expatsforum.com/phpBB2/soduko.php

or should i add the .tpl file that actually contains the content called up by the .php file??

So I assume you're using the little plug-in for this.

The principle is simple, you need to upload all files in the archive (rename sitemap_site1.php and index_site1.php to sitemap_site.php and index_site.php if you're using just one.

Then, you just need to add one URL per line in the url_list .txt file that should be located in mx_ggsitemaps/includes/ and should see a new link in you sitemapIndex : something like www.example.com/sitemap.php?site leading to a Google sitemap listing the URL you put in url_list .txt.

There is no mod rewrite support for this kind of URL for now, but the update I'm working on will and it's no big deal to use it as is until then, it will work.

the php file is dynamic as it uses takes displays the contents of a .tpl file

which file should i add to the list?

Ho I see, you can add every type of URL you want Google to find out about, just the URL, nothing more, pretty much like the yahoo! urllist.txt the new Google sitemaps module is building.
Here an example : http://www.phpbb-seo.com/urllist.txt.gz EG one full URL per line.

So for your example, just add http://www.asia-expatsforum.com/phpBB2/soduko.php on a single line in the txt file, and add more URL in the list if you wish. You can go up to few hundreds in this txt file.

I understand that.

The problem here is that http://www.asia-expatsforum.com/phpBB2/soduko.php actually contains no content--it dynamically creates output using contents of soduko.tpl file

so should I use the php or tpl file in my text list?

I think there is some confusion here, it does not matter if the sudoku game is dynamic as long as the url is not.

It's no problem to submit this particular URL, it's a page with interest for users.

For sure you could think of adding some descriptive introduction in this page, telling a bit more about sudoku and it's rules and the fact you can play on the page, to make it possible for more search queries for this page while you're being useful to your users Wink

I am not referring to the soduko game being dynamic. The soduko.php file is dynamic-
I will post the code of both files.

Again, the only thing you can submit to Google are URLs, not templates.
It does not really matter if your page is dynamic, all the dynamic part you're talking about are brought on the page using JavaScript so bot won't see any.

That's why I was talking about adding some text, try loading you page without JS.

And actually, the fact it's dynamic does not have nothing to deal with submission, many page we submit are dynamic, or should, like forum's URL showing a last active topic paginated list thus moving a lot or the topic themselves when they get replies, what does not change is the kind of data you'll find on each.

An here, to play sudoku on your forum, you need to hit your sudoko page, whatever the fact there will be a new game upon each load, which is the least we could expect from it.

So again, you only want to list URLs in the Google sitemaps, so it's http://www.asia-expatsforum.com/phpBB2/soduko.php for this particular page.

Seems that my sitemap index is not showing any of the urls I added.

I follwed the instructions.

Copied the files to the server and added the urls to the urll text list

where do you see that code? and why dont the extra urls show up in the sitemap?

I found it at the bottom of your sitemapIndex : -http://www.asia-expatsforum.com/phpBB2/sitemaps.xml

This is one of this module feature to auto detect and integrate additional sitemap php file in the listings. So the link appeared automatically when you uploaded the file from the plug-in Wink

Try loading the added URL, you'll find all the url from the txt file in a Google sitemap.
