Hi all.
I've been looking for this, but not found anything sofar, although close I still need some help. Maybe one of you can help me.
Let me explain what I am looking for. I have phpbb installed in my root, for example, lets use: -www.site.com
Now I have various forums and I wish to archive the following nice rewrite rules:
- Category c=1 is called 'Test Category'
- Forum f=1 is called 'Test Forum'
- Topic t=1 (posted in in Forum f=1) is called 'Test Topic'
So I want the url for the Topic t=1 to look like this (www.site.com/viewtopic.php?t=1&highlight=test) >>>>>
-www.site.com/testcategory/testforum/test-topic-1.htm&highlight=test
or
-www.site.com/1/testforum/test-topic-1.htm&highlight=test
and for posting (www.site.com/posting.php?mode=newtopic&f=1) >>>> -www.site.com/testcategory/testforum/posting/new/
and for posting (www.site.com/posting.php?mode=editpost&p=1) >>>> -www.site.com/testcategory/testforum/posting/edit/
On top of that I would like to make simple modifications like
-www.site.com/memberlist.php >>>> -www.site.com/memberlist/
-www.site.com/faq.php >>>> -www.site.com/faq/
-www.site.com/profile.php?mode=editprofile >>>> -www.site.com/profile/edit/
If a username of user u=1 is Admin I would like
-www.site.com/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=1 >>>> -www.site.com/profile/view/admin/
or
-www.site.com/profile/view/1/
and so forth.
Is this easy to archieve or am I barking up the wrong tree? Can someone help me put this together? |

The thing is most of those would be useless SEO wise, like all the profile and posting rewriting, and it's quite some more work.
Then, about virtual folders, I guess you'll have to wait a bit, but be sure about one thing, the mod as we release them now are really efficient.
The update will allow to change suffixes (.html) and delimiters (-vt) as we wish, but no folder injection.
