hi
don't worry
everthing is ok in your site
advance rewrite mod works for you without problem
for redirecting post URLs to proper topic URL , you need another mod
see this topic
zero duplicate mod
this mod is not released but it will release in near future |

Ho I see, you links in forums are not rewritten : -http://www.swollenpickles.com/forum/guitars-amps-and-effects-vf10.html
I think you just need to make sure you did not get rid of the required code changes in veiwforum.php while implementing some other code changes in this file (updating or installing a mod).
The changes are few, it should not be hard to find out.

The topic Urls do the same thing:
http://www.swollenpickles.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4
i fixed up the code in the viewtopic.php file and it temporarily fixed it. But now it's gone back to the unfriendly URLS again. Its like something automatically overwrites the change? |

Ok, i'll check on the viewforum.php and viewtopic.php changes tonight. I'm just confused as to why the changes I've made in viewtopic.php are erased not long after I update them??
If you could PM the zero dupe thing that would be appreciated. I'm determined to get this thing working! |

Something weird is happening again. My forum is behaving strangely, if I tried to select a forum from the drop down menu in the bottom right I get a 404 error. Also, when I make a post, if I click on view message I get a 404 error. Everything else seems to work fine, and the posts are showing up etc. I so confused!
the forum address is:

For example, if you click on the forum title from the index page it takes you to the correct url:
http://www.swollenpickles.com/forum/just-plain-funny-vf1.html
But if you select that same forum from the drop down menu, it takes you to:
Also, if you create a new post, once you hit submit, if you click on the take me to my post link, you will get a 404. But if you just let it go automatically it will open the correct page.
It's like it's dropping the forum and post name when doing the URL thing but I can't figure out how to fix it. |

Well this is strange because you jump-box's html code looks quite normal in you source code.
And the phpBB SEO mod rewrite to not alter it.
Have you installed a test version of the zero duplicate ?
Because it -http://www.swollenpickles.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=4 seems to be the problem here, it's redirected without the forum title.
As well, the return to post link while replying is like -http://www.swollenpickles.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=15
but is redirected properly (http 301)
And -http://www.swollenpickles.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=15 as well, so I think that you second 404 comes from some previous modding.
Could you tell me what is the URL of the click Here link when posting ?
And for the zero dupe it must not be very big mistake.
Tell me what was the code pasted in viewforum.php.
