forums, links, styles not updating...Posted: Thu Oct 11, 2007 9:38 pm    Post subject: forums, links, styles not updating...

I've been messing around with the premod on a test forum http://lgforums.com/

First install I decided to turn the forum ID removing on but it was saying the forum didn't exist, so I turned it back, but it kept the ID removed links and I couldn't figure out how to get them back. It wouldn't update even when turning seo urls off and then back on (and it would go back to regular url's just fine)

Installed again, I created some new forums to test posting and etc. and it's only showing the default test forum, switched the style to one I downloaded, SemiOutline and it worked, but now it's not switching back to prosilver

It's doing this with or without the seo url's activated. I tried clearing cache

Any clues?

Edit: I don't know what the first installs issue was but I'm just gonna stay away from that option

Deactivated the theme and it forced everything back to prosilver, and the forums issue, well my permissions are all messed up it seems

When you get rid of the forum IDs after you've cached them without, you'll need to edit again each forum url, or clear the cache.
This is to prevent user from changing all their forum url by mistake.

Then, you must update the .htaccess each time you change url rewriting type (not forum id removing, but simple, mixed and advanced types).

There should not be any style or authorisation issues when editing the phpBB SEO option.

I suggest you take some time to test the premod on a local or private server, in order to find out a little bit more about the possibilities given by this premod.
You should take great care when selecting the url rewriting type, because it's not something you should change every other day.

Besides, once you'll get familiar with the features and options, it will be pretty easy to deal with.
