i just checked the pre mod package.
it asks lot of things to be done mannually... so wht the difference if i install original phpbb3 gold and then install the seo mods ? its the same work right ? coz am advised to install original files and then install seo mods instead of using pre mod package.
if i dont understand instructions, can i ask here ? there are lots of jargons and techie terms used....i may need bit of hand holding. |

Man, I don't know about who's advising you, but sometime simplicity is not bad at all.
If you install all of our mods, you'll almost end up with our premod. The premod only has few more code changes, for version checking mostly, and the mod rewrite type selector.
As a general principle, it's of course a good thing to do the modding yourself, but, the fact you can have all the modding already done and maintained (with the update packages) is to be considered IMHO.
The mods are the same. |

It's as easy to install as phpBB3, expect you'll have more option to deal with and the .htaccess to generate and put in the right place.
The install file is a bit long, but it's only some doc, you just need to follow the few steps mentioned at the beginning of the DYI and you'll have your phpBB Premod up and running.
Note that reading the doc will help you in your seo quest
