Hold your horses, they may be releasing RC7 today...

We will try to provide two different update packages for you, to be able to update from RC5 to RC7 and RC6 to RC7.
Luckily, to detect these issues, we have the release candidate phase. We apologize for the inconvenience. |

Jeez, this will make it harder for some.
Let's wait a little more before we go fro the update.
As far as what was seen, and I don't think RC7 will imply this much new code beside the converter/updater, the code change should be minor for the phpBB SEO mods. |

| I am currently running RC5, but I'd like to get patched up to RC7. What do I need to do? |

There is an automatic and file only update package to go directly from RC5 to RC7 at phpBB.com : http://www.phpbb.com/downloads/development.php
You are lucky, because normally you should have gone through two updates.
So, if your phpBB3 forum is not to heavily modded, you can try the automatic update package, it will check all the files for you and will tell you what file could cause problem before it will change anything.
The changed files only package can be a good solution if you want to compare files by yourself, but given the huge amount of changed files, I suggest you try the automatic update first.
Good luck

| Yeah, I tried that much, but since I am running phpBB-SEO, it fails. What about this "changed files" package? |

Isn't the auto update tool at least providing you with the list of the files causing trouble ?
What you could do from there is download the modified files list built by the updater, always choosing to use the original new file when there is trouble updating automatically. Of course, you need to keep in mind the problematic file list.
Then, on the downloaded files, you'd only have to reinstall the part of the mod concerning these file.
I cannot think of a faster way, if you do it with the changed file package, you'll have to figure out by yourself which file required to be modded in the previous version. Given the huge amount of modified files, this only can be a pain.
Local testing is of course advised, if you install a copy of your forum locally, you'll be able to safely validate all the steps before going online.
