phpbb seo mod issue with IE 6.0Posted: Thu Dec 27, 2007 9:05 am    Post subject: phpbb seo mod issue with IE 6.0

I generally use Mozilla Firefox but I do always test my website with IE (the version I'm using). Ok. Here it goes.

Without using seo premod when I load the all forum page it loads pretty well. But with using seo premod when I load the main index page it loads well (I would like to call it entering page of the forum to clear out the doubts from my statement provided below) now when I click on any link within the forum which will take to some other page within forum including topics, members page etc. the page loads only with css (i think) and doesn't loads images and graphics automatically. Then I have to refresh my IE 6.0 and everything works fine (as this now become the entering page of the forum as stated above and I see on the status bar of IE6 at bottom left side saying "x" items remaining to load and after the items gets loaded the forum has its original appearance). Which means that each page has to load images, etc. separately by refreshing it. I checked this issue with forums not using seo premod and they didn't have this issue in IE6. I even checked http://phpbb3.phpbb-seo.net/ and they also have this issue.

Actually when I click on the any links (IE6) in the fourm it loads the css part but doesn't loads any of the images. I have to refresh it every time when I go to new page within fourm. Any one encountered such issue with IE6 when using phpbb3 seo mod???

dcz, which browser are you using. Did you find anything wired like this. As I came to know from internet that maximum number of users are using IE6 till date.

Sorry to say but this same issue was with RC7 premod. But at that time since I didn't started using forum I didn't care. Now its getting my shit out.

That's pretty weird because I do not have the issue.

It's for example possible that if you load the vanilla index with IE and then mod it and re load it you will have trouble because IE would still use data from its cache.

Could you clear your IE's cache and try again, and if necessary post a link to your forum, could help since I cannot reproduce the bug on http://phpbb3.phpbb-seo.net/

I don't know if there is some problem in IE6. But when even I use browser back button it doesn't loads images, it does load css. To load images and etc. it has to be refreshed. I cleared the cached and checked it. Don't know if I'm the only one facing this problem. If no one faces this problem then I don't care as I don't intend to use the forum. Its for people out there.

I don't want to disclose my forum address publicly since its in demo mode currently. Though dcz knows the forum url.
