Hello,
just a little error then in all set.
The portal references the CSS by calling
../portaldir/css/portal.css
it works good with vanilla phpbb3 (its a subdir), but as soon as i get the seo the css is lost since it goes into virtual dir and the css is not matching.
I can guess its a simple match to do with .htaccess file but ... im sorry to say, im incapable of that.
If any good soul around could to that for me, he'd have my infinite gratitude.
Thanks in advance! |

A link would help to understand better here.
Is phpBB css loaded properly ?
Did you implement the template code changes properly and cleared cache after you did ?
Could be because the portal css is not located in the phpBB directory. |

I did not explain myself properly,
the portal is installed in /portal/
the phpbb is installed in /forum/
the problem is that the portal uses relative links.
In the original installation of the forum, it will *always* be (except the admin) in the root directory of /forum/, the portal considers this and creates relative links (fixed) as ../portal/whatever_directory/.
So my problem is that when a "fake" or "virtual" subdirectory is created with the rewrite, the portal STILL creates relative links as ../portal/ but it does not find, since the browser will go search just one directory up, and will so go in /forum/portal. I thought about creating a symlink, but that would only be a temporary solution so a rewrite rule (i guess) could help me much better by redirecting all ../portal/ calls to the correct dir.
Hope i explained myself better this time |

you're too kind
the portal im using is www.mkportal.it , but worry not, the problem was with the virtual folders more than the rest, and i sent you the fix on pm's.
As soon as i've tested everything as i told ya, i'll post my fixes.
Only stuff i cant really handle is making the portal boxes use seo'ed links instead of the "normal" ones. |
