Hi
'm just have a little problem and would like to know how to solve such a thing.
I have a category sorted as follow:
- Category 1
--Forum A
---Sub a
What I want to do is to display the --Forum A only on the index page without any links to the ---Sub a forum.
Also I want when a member open the --Forum A link to see the ---Sub a there as a legend, but do not want to display the ---Sub a in the board index like --Forum A
So how can I do so?
I've tried to change the settings for List subforums in legend: & List subforum in parent-forum’s legend: but can not display it the way I want.
Please advise.
Note: I did not posted this else where.
Thanks |

| I'm entirely clear what you want, but you might try setting Forum A to have no parent (there is no notion of phpBB's V2 categories - they are mapped to subforums during conversion). Then in the forum listing, it will be shown under the heading "FORUMS" (or similar verbiage). |

Please let me tell you what is exactly the situation I have here. I will clear it with images and hope to clear what I want to say. Please note that I am using phpbb 3.0.1.
- This is how the Cybers category displayed on the board index of the whole board:
... ... No problem so far.
- This is when I open the 1st main forum (the one that titled Operating Systems) .
... The problem is exactly here because the sub forums mentioned below in the image is not listed as subforum for the forum titled Microsoft.
- As you can see there is an indicator that the forum Microsoft including sub forums, right!?
- so as a summery ::>>> I just want to display the sub forums for Microsoft when I only open the forum Microsoft and I do not want to display the Microsoft Sub Forums in the board index.
I hope that I make it more clear now, but if u still do not follow me I can PM you with my url to do not advertise my website here.
Thanks |

| In the forum ACP, edit a sub forum, and you'll see the option to decide or not to display the forum in the parent forum list. |

Thanks for replying mate, I did tried all trials and error for this settings but really still not showing as the way I want. Here are how I set both of them:
- Microsoft Forum:>> List subforums in legend: & List subforum in parent-forum’s legend: both options are set to yes.
- subforum :: vista: >> List subforums in legend: is set to No & List subforum in parent-forum’s legend: >> is set to Yes.
But this is resulted to display vista forum in the main board index, and also under the microsoft forum as a sub.
Please advise buddy how to do not display the vista subforum in the main board index and only disply it under microsoft when I browse the forum microsoft.
Thanks |
