Professional's correct, there's no user interface in the ACP for modifying the timestamp of a post or thread. But it's trivial to modify the database entries, either in code you write yourself or with phpMyAdmin.
Of course this begs the question: Why would you want to? |

I know that it will sound strange but I do not have other options. I am moving my forum from MyBB to phpBB3 and because I did not found any converters from MyBB ::>> phpBB3, so I was palning to spend the nxt week end working on this by recreating the members for the old board (about 52 member), and reposting the topics-posts (about 500 post), then adjusting the time to be as the old forums. But now I do not have options, I think I will send a mass email to all members to know which is better for them - do the job myself and ignore the time issue.
- accept to start with 0 posts on the new board.
This is why I am a stuck and asked for a way to adjust the posting time.
while the topics was not for this issue, but if u have any ideas how to do, please feel free to tell.
Thanks |

Without a converter, there's no easy way. You can write one yourself or do it manually as you suggest. It's a tradeoff of input time (low skill required) versus programmer time (high skill required). Even though I program for a living, I go with manual if I think it can be done in less than an hour. For over a couple hours, I'll code up something. What works for you depends on your particular skill set and the estimated time of manual input (as a guess, I would say doing it by hand would be several long, long evenings pounding at the keyboard; less if you're handy with editor macros).
It may be worth asking for ideas on phpBB. There's a forum dedicated to conversions. |
