Hi all
I recently checked how well I scored in google and I got some strange results regarding the url's.
My SEO forum is configured so that I get the subject in the url, but google displays the urls like this:
-www.site.com/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=4 (the default phpbb way)
or like this
-www.site.com/post55.html
Does anyone has an idea on this? I realy would like them to be indexed with the subject name in the url.
Thank you in advance |

Thank you for your reply.
So I only have to active the zero duplicate, but I don't undestand fully what the Post Redirections mean.
And also, what do I need to configure then in my robot.txt?
Sorry for all the questions |

Yep, you've to activate Zeo Duplicate and choose what kind of post redirections you want. Choose "All" in order to see -www.forum.com/the-name-of-your-topic,txxxx.html
For robots.txt :
| Quote: | __________________
NOTE: robots.txt :

You will find a sample robots.txt file in the contrib/ folder of this package.
The robots.txt file must be uploaded in your domain's root folder (can be different from the phpBB one).
You must obviously replace phpbb/ with your real phpBB installation folder (or with nothing if it's installed in the domain's root).
IMPORTANT :
If your forum previously was indexed with the natural urls (viewtopic.php etc...), then you must make sure
that the robots.txt advised for our mod rewrite is not installed, if so delete it from the server.
This because we want to redirect old urls before we disallow them, it's crucial!
In such case, a month or two after you activated the zero duplicate, you can safely implement the robots.txt. |
Upload it only 2 months after you'd activated the Zero Duplicate.
