mx sitemaps is building html sitemaps, the plan is to merge it into GYM sitemaps in the future, the new module will offer pretty much the same functionalities as the old mx sitemaps mod was doing.

There is no gym mod for phpBB3 yet.

For the settings, they are all under the phpBB SEO category in ACP.

Well, it will include the new link in the sitemap and rss feeds of course, but won't create a new page.

Well, since we are currently writing in the phpBB3 forum, I assume you are talking about phpBB3, and GYM sitemaps for phpBB3 is not available yet, so, I'm not sure to understand exactly what are you talking about.
