phpBB SEO + Wordpress :)

Greetz!

Good afternoon Gents,

On a few of my sites I'm currently working to integrate bbPress into my WordPress blogs/websites. One of the problems I'm running into is how bbPress is YEARS behind phpbb-SEO Premod......

Perhaps one day you will download a copy of WordPress and build a nice integration between it and phpBB 3.0 Pre-Mod Smile

Perhaps you are meaning like I have on my site. take a look and let me know if that integration is what you seek. I have it implemented with phpbb3.0.1 SEO premod and Wordpress 2.5.1. the site is www.LinMo.org It is a new site and only has one post but if you click on "blogs" you will be able to see the integration. Works like a charm and I would be happy to assist you if this suite your needs

Well, as stated in the license, you should at least provide with a backlink on the forum or home page.
The default is a link in the footer, you can even choose the text you want for it in ACP.

That's the only requirement to freely use our mod rewrite, I don't think anyone in our community regrets it. Especially those who already have been using them for a while and particularly appreciate to find regular update and good support.

Oh, that is there.. simple oversight on my part, I had removed the translation info from the skin when I made it, I didnt realize it affected the backlink to your site. I have fixed it now Smile

honestly, simple mistake. I appreciate everything you have done and would put a bigger link on there if there was one.

I'm currently working on a few sites for work that are taking a bit of my time, but after those are done I will package up something. It's just a re-work of WP-United files set to work with the latest versions of wordpress and phpbb3. It works well with prosilver based themes but I am still trying to iron out some bugs for subsilver based themes. It's a shame WP-United has pretty much been abandoned by the original author, leaving users like myself to "make things work" I will post the re-worked files and instructions in a couple days.

It's a pity if WP united is not maintained any more, I'm sure this is the type of mod that would be useful to many.
I personally find it more safe to bet on such bridge than on a phpBB blog mod, because both phpBB and WP are very unlikely to be abandoned, but a phpBB mod could and would be harder to maintain alone.

The cool thing is GPL, anyone can continue or branch a mod, so if you are using the bridge and do have enough skills to maintain it, you can release your version, and eventually benefit from sharing it for the future, since the most wider it will be used the more stable and feature rich it will be.
