Hi, I'm using advanced mod rewrite here. I'm getting a few inbound links to post URLs rather than topic URLs.
Since I have /post disallowed in my .htaccess, does this mean such backlinks are not counting towards my PR?
Also, I have now installed a "latest active topics" box at the top of the index page. These all link to the latest post in each thread, so this will increase the likelihood of inbound links being post rather than topic URLs.
What can I do to fix this? Should I allow bots to follow post URLs after all?
Finally, I am using Nick Vergessen's "last post topic title" mod to put the titles of each forum's most recent topics on the index page. But it outputs the URLs in viewtopic.php?f=xx&t=yyyy format. What are the code edits I need to ensure they are mod-rewritten?
Thanks ever so much for your help. |

It's of course a bit better to output the topic URLs in all cases, but it's not really an SEO issue as long as you keep the robots.txt as advised or at least use the zero duplicate.
About your last topic links on index mod, it most likely requires a simple patch, which already may have been provided somewhere in the seo phpBB3 category (try searching just in case).
If you do not find it, please give us the link to where the mod is officially released and I'll tell you what to do
