About phpBB-Seo ModPosted: Wed Aug 27, 2008 9:15 am    Post subject: Re: About phpBB-Seo Mod

Well, august is not the most active month here sorry, and the general discussion forum no the best place to originally post this, but anyway, better late than never Wink

So :
1) the changes performed by our SEO mod in the db are very few and very unlikely to cause problems, but as always when installing mods, a full DB backup is mandatory (it's a good occasion to do it by the way, even though backuping 2Go is not the funniest thing in the world).
The mod rewrite will only alter the module table to install the acp modules, the premod will additionally add one index (for the no dupe mod) and and entry in config for version tracking.

2) It's always the best thing to do to keep all mods up to date. But chances are great that ours mods will keep on working if you only update phpBB since in the end the do not change much in the phpBB regular process.

3) The answer mostly depends on if you'll be using the premod or the standalone installations of ours mods.
The premod is updated separately from phpBB (usually during the week following the phpBB update), and comes with the same type of install procedure as phpBB3 (auto update and changed files only packages). It's the easiest way to maintain phpBB3 with our mods, since the updates will update phpBB and our mods at once.
If you use the standalone installations, then and again, chances are great that the mods will still work if you update phpBB, but as with any other mod, it will be something to make sure about before you go online. The standalone version of our mods are updated (when required) usually during the week after phpBB updates.
