Redirect Error with new Forums and SubforumsPosted: Mon Feb 11, 2008 11:11 am    Post subject: Redirect Error with new Forums and Subforums

First of all i want to thank you for your great work.
Everything works fine for me except one thing.

If i create a new Forum or Subforum i'll get the forum number injected in the url and the redirect wont work.

Example:

I Create a new Forum "Newforum"
Then on my Index-Page it redirects myself to "www.mysite.com/newforum88/ and i get an "forum does not exist"

If i then go to ACP -> SEO -> Url Management and set my custom url manually to "newforum" its accessible under "www.mysite.com/newforum/"

this wouldn't be a problem if i wouldn't allow my moderators to manage forums. but if the create a new one it isn't accessible, because they have no access to the url management.
the easiest solution would be to grant them access to seo url management but i didn't find a way to do this in permissions.

i have the Advanced SEO Rewrite installed on my phpBB 3.0.0
with all class settings enabled (caching, sid removing etc.)

thanks for your time so far!

Redirect Error with new Forums and SubforumsPosted: Tue Feb 12, 2008 9:34 am    Post subject: Re: Redirect Error with new Forums and Subforums

This should not occur.

the fact a new forum gets an url like :www.mysite.com/newforum88/ seems to mean that you edited the delimiters a bit ("-f" to nothing).

This could be the cause for what you experiment, since newforum88/ will not be matchable by the current rewriterules RegEx and will fell in the no id rewriterule and then lead to a forum that do not exists, since only newforum88 is not a valid custom forum url (they cannot end with numbers).

If this is the reason (delimiter), then just put back "-f" for forums, and you be done.

If moderators do create a forum, it will be using forum-title-fxx/ until you update it in the ACP (and will after this be properly HTTP 301 redirected Wink).
