Hello,
I am new to the board and not very good with coding. I tried to install this mod and I must of done something wrong since it doesn't appear to be working when I view the source code of a topic in my forum.
Here is what I did. I downloaded/backed up the six files that needed to be edited. I then had my co-worker help me out since he used to be a programmer. We didn't change anything right under where the instructions begin:
"In in includes/functions.php, you'll find some pretty obvious code you may want to modify upon your needs :"
It seemed like it was hinting that the defaults were okay so we didn't change anything.
We then proceeded to modify the six file as prescribed in the instructions.
We then uploaded all the files and everything seemed to run fine. We then viewed the source code and it didn't seem like keywords, descriptions were being generated like I saw happening in the demo forum that was posted.
I then installed the update patch and didn't notice any change.
I left the modded files running in hopes someone can tell me where I went wrong. I can always re-up the original files if need be. My forum is:
http://discussion.thecoupondepot2006.com/
Thanks in advance for any insight.

Kind of an update.
I was reading some other posts in this forum and saw one about the sitename and description being blank in ACP. I had hardcoded the text for that earlier this morning instead of inserting into ACP correctly. I thought maybe that had something to do with the meta tags not generating. So I put everything back to the way it was earlier this morning, re-downloaded the six pertinent files. I then re-applied the mod to all the files and then re-upped. Still doesn't seem like I have it right.
I will just leave it alone for now and see if anyone here can provide some insight. I can always put the original files back on too if need be.

I just couldn't let it go. After more reading I saw someone posting about the cache. I deleted the template cache from within ACP and it seems to be working fine now I think.
